God wants to heal us - 11 March 2025

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3, NIV
In Egypt, a man arrived at the hospital with severe stomach pain. Although he thought he had food poisoning, the doctors shocked him with the news that an X-ray showed an entire cellphone inside his stomach.
The man shamefully admitted that he had accidentally swallowed his phone months earlier. Too embarrassed to tell anyone, he avoided seeking medical help, hoping it would pass naturally. However, the situation worsened and doctors had to surgically remove the phone from his stomach – completely intact.
This story may sound absurd, but sometimes we act just like this man when we refuse to face our emotional wounds, sins or even “certain areas” of our lives (finances, relationships, weight – you name it). Instead of seeking God’s help, we “hope” the issue will go away, only to find it growing worse until we are left with a “stomach ache” of our own.
God is our healer. He wants us to live in freedom. In 1 John 1:9, we read: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Psalm 147:3 tells us: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Let’s rid ourselves of anything preventing us from experiencing God’s best for our lives! God bless you.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for being our healer. Today, I bring (mention the area) before you and ask for your healing. Help me to hear your voice more clearly and experience more of you in my life. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
