He gives rest - 17 March 2025

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this. Psalm 37:5, NIV
To promote his new album, French rapper Riles Kacimi did something extraordinary – something designed to capture attention. A passionate runner and musician, he decided to merge his two worlds in a daring stunt. He placed a treadmill inside a glass box and ran non-stop for 24 hours. Behind him, three spinning circular saws whirred relentlessly. One misstep could have ended in disaster.
With nothing but the rhythmic pounding of his feet, the steady hum of the treadmill and the ominous buzz of the blades, he pushed forward, covering an incredible 205 km in a single day.
What a striking picture of how life can feel during tough seasons. At times, it seems like we’re running on a never-ending treadmill, chased by unseen dangers, with no idea where the STOP button is.
Have you ever felt that way? Maybe you feel like that right now – overwhelmed by financial strain, relationship struggles, health issues or pressure at work. If so, take heart in these words from Psalm 37:5: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this.” And in 1 Peter 5:7, we find this promise: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
God is the One who stops the treadmill. He silences the chaos, removes the danger and offers rest in the middle of life’s relentless race. He restores joy to our hearts and gives us the confidence to step forward. All he asks is that we trust him.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for being in control of my life. Today, I bring (mention your challenge) before you. Please quiet my heart, restore my joy and grant me wisdom in this situation. I trust you completely. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
